Prioritizing My Clients While Capturing the Bigger Story

This past weekend, I had the privilege of being booked by two clients to capture photos of their sons during their games. Whenever I’m on the sidelines, my first priority is always the athletes and families who trust me with the responsibility of telling their story through my lens.

But one thing I’ve learned over the years is that every game holds countless moments worth remembering — from teammates celebrating a big play, to the intensity of competition, to those small expressions of focus and determination that often go unnoticed.

That’s why, while my clients always come first, I make it a point to grab a few extra shots of other players when I can. Doing so allows me to put together a gallery that reflects the full spirit of the game — something that parents, players, and coaches can look back on and appreciate.

I believe sports photography isn’t just about freezing action; it’s about capturing emotion, energy, and memories that last long after the scoreboard is cleared. By building galleries to share, I hope to give more families and athletes the opportunity to see themselves in those moments.

To the parents who booked me this weekend — thank you for trusting me with your sons’ memories. And to the other athletes I was able to capture — I hope these images remind you that every effort, every play, and every moment matters.

📸 Bridgeport vs. Spring Mills Scrimmage – August 23, 2025

The Bridgeport Indians traveled to the Eastern Panhandle today to scrimmage the Spring Mills Cardinals. The game was originally scheduled to be played at Spring Mills High School, but due to field issues with the brand new turf at their stadium, the scrimmage was moved to Martinsburg High School.

I was on the sidelines capturing the action, and it didn’t take long to see why Bridgeport rolled through last season with a perfect 14–0 record and a Class AAA state championship. Their unconventional but relentless running game is tough to stop, and their offensive line controls the trenches with power and discipline.

Bridgeport’s varsity team jumped out fast, taking a 27–6 lead in the first half. Their execution and physicality set the tone early. The JV squads took the field next, and the Indians’ depth showed as they also handled Spring Mills convincingly.

But the bright spot of the day came when Spring Mills’ freshman team stepped onto the field. They brought energy and explosiveness, scoring on every possession but the last one. If they’d had just a few more plays, they likely would have found the end zone again. Their wide receivers were getting open with ease, and the running backs showed toughness and speed on the ground. The freshman matchup finished with Spring Mills on top, 14–7.

Overall, Bridgeport looked every bit like the disciplined, powerhouse program they’re known to be, while Spring Mills’ young guns gave Cardinals fans plenty of reasons to be excited about the future.

Spring Mills vs. Martinsburg Boys Soccer | Photo Gallery

Last night, I had the opportunity to capture an exciting matchup between the Spring Mills Cardinals and the Martinsburg Bulldogs on the soccer field. The energy was high from start to finish, with both teams battling hard for control of the game.

The action didn’t slow down until the final whistle, as Martinsburg tied things up late in the match to secure a 2-2 draw against Spring Mills. The crowd was on edge, the players gave it their all, and I was right there on the sidelines capturing every moment.

From fast breaks to defensive stops, and the emotion written on the players’ faces, this game had it all — and I made sure to bring that story to life through my lens.
