Yesterday’s freshman football matchup between Martinsburg and Musselman was a tale of two halves.
The first half was a defensive battle, with both teams holding strong at the line of scrimmage. Neither side was able to break through, and the game went into halftime locked at 0–0.
After the break, Martinsburg found their rhythm. The Bulldogs turned up the intensity on both sides of the ball—executing sharper offensive drives and tightening their defensive coverage. That second-half surge was the difference-maker, as Martinsburg pulled away and secured the win.
It was a gritty performance that showed the resilience and depth of this young Bulldogs team. Musselman battled hard but couldn’t match the energy Martinsburg brought out of the locker room.
