The rivalry between Spring Mills and Musselman lived up to its reputation Friday night, with plenty of physical play, penalties, and intensity on both sides. But when the dust settled, it was the Cardinals’ defense that stole the show, leading Spring Mills to a 20–0 shutout victory.

This marks the second straight shutout for Spring Mills and the third consecutive meeting where the Cardinals’ defense has not allowed Musselman to score a touchdown. Even when multiple unsportsmanlike conduct penalties extended Applemen drives, the Spring Mills defense held firm and refused to break.

Musselman entered the contest with confidence after defeating Wheeling Park 21–14 the week before, especially since Spring Mills had fallen to Wheeling Park earlier this season, 33–28. On paper, the Applemen felt they had a chance to contend. On the field, however, Spring Mills erased those hopes with a dominant performance.
With this win, the Cardinals continue to build momentum and show why their defense is among the toughest in the Eastern Panhandle.
